“Skryabin” (Скрябін) is a very popular band in Ukraine, they first appeared on stage in late 1980s and had a continuous success until this day. In 2015, the lead singer, Andriy Kuzmenko, also known simply as Kuzma (that you will see in the video here) has tragically died in a car crash, and it was a very sad day for all of his fans (including me).
Skryabin is a kind of mix of rock and pop that has a great appeal to the general public – everyone from the very young to the very old.
This song in particular can be translated as “Old Photographs”, and it is about how quickly the time runs, and how we can lose touch with our old friends. “Take out your old photographs and put them on a table, and don’t forget to call your good, old friends, because they are always there for you“, sings the lead singer Andriy Kuzmenko (also known simply as Kuzma).
