Mumbai, previously known as Bombay, is one of the largest megalopolises in India.  Located on the West side of the central India, the city is famous for being the prime location of Bollywood, the Indian equivalent to Hollywood, and therefore it attracts many aspiring actors and actresses from all over the country.

Many young men and women, dreaming relentlessly about a luxurious career as a Bollywood superstar, abandon their homes from other (mostly rural parts) of India, in pursue of their big dream.  Most end up working in other professions, some go back home in shameful defeat, but several few do get lucky eventually, and succeed in making their dream a reality, which in turn perpetuates this desire of achieving the national stardom in many others.

Mumbai, which looks like an Indian version of the American Miami, is an incredibly beautiful city.  Despite its fast growing industrial modernity, the striking difference between the rich and the poor is present all over this laid-back beach town.  In fact, one of the most unforgettable sights awaits you right in the Mumbai International Airport.

When you are just arriving, or taking off from Mumbai, you will be amazed by the amount of… slum huts that surround the airport.  And the only thing that separates the huts from the runaway, is a thin wired wall, that runs along the edge of the airport.

Another noticeable fact about this city, is the strong and omnipresent trace of the British occupation that lasted for nearly a hundred years, between 1858 and 1947.  The red-colored double decker busses, the “right”- side driving, the impeccably manicured green gardens, the imposing and gorgeous Gothic architecture that is spread all over the city, the western clothing, the language…  if it weren’t for the miserable poverty that defines India, Mumbai could easily rival London for its beauty and significance.
