Cape Town is a one lucky town – blessed with an amazing nature, sunny weather, nice, friendly people, delicious home-grown wine, and great food, this city lacks practically nothing! Some of its major attractions include – the World famous Table Mountain, which is considered to be one of the 7 Wonders of Nature, a scenic peninsula by the name Cape of Good Hope, a number of culturally important, historic museums, and an incredibly beautiful Botanical Garden, among other things.
Cape Town is also known as the “Windy City” due to its extreme, high winds. The winds are so infamous that the locals even came up with a name for one of its particularly strong ones that they named – Cape Doctor. This fierce South-Eastern wind often produces a… howling sound that can be quite eerie to hear when you’re new to town. Also, when the wind levels reach a certain high, the Table Mountain cable car gets shot down, and you cannot access it until it reopens. So as a good precaution – check the official website before you head up to the entrance to make sure that it’s actually open.
The pictures below are a quick introduction to the Cape Town – the jewel city of South Africa.

You can access the Table Mountain by a cable car, or by a trail hike. If you do decide to hike the mountain, make sure that you are appropriately dressed, apply a good level of sunscreen, and bring plenty of water with you (at least 2 liters).
