I'm Portuguese, live in Lisbon and I'm a travel addict!
I've been traveling since I was a teenager and I've been around the World a few times already.
This is my attempt to share with you my experiences and the knowledge I've collected after more than 20 years of non-stop traveling. Hope you like it!

If you are planning a trip to Portugal be sure to include a visit to Alentejo.
Alentejo was recently chosen by the prestigious publication Lonely Planet Traveller as one of the best destinations in the World to spend a weekend.
In this region you’ll find many great hotel options, but São Lourenço do Barrocal is one of the best.
Located in Barrocal, near the Alqueva Lake and only a few kilometers from Reguengos de Monsarraz, this Alentejo hill was recently converted into a luxury hotel unit. This place has everything for a perfect family weekend or for a romantic getaway with your loved one. Because a picture is worth a thousand words I’ll leave you with some pictures so you can make your own conclusions.
The Grounds of Sâo Lourenço
The property around the hotel is beautiful and offers a variety of activities. You can follow several recommended trails and discover a little more about the history of the place. This property has numerous ruins of the neolithic period like menhirs and dolmens.
The rooms are large, comfortable and decorated with great taste.
The property has take-out ready picnic baskets, massages at the spa, wine tasting experiences, bicycles and even horseback rides.
The restaurant has an interesting decor and is quite good, although I found it has little choice of dishes, but for a weekend getaway it is more than enough. Guests staying longer have more options in the area, particularly in Reguengos de Monsarraz.
Breakfast, also served in the same place, has a pretty decent choice of itms like cheese, jam, fruit, cereal, bread, candy, etc.
And there it is, my suggestions for a visit to the Alentejo region.
